LIVING IN OUR HOMES

Our homes are staffed 24 hours a day with a number of qualified staff always on duty having completed either their level 2 or level 3 qualification in health and social care.

Our staff will assist in providing personal care which includes help with dressing, eating, washing, communication, toileting, etc. However where able we do encourage the residents to act as independently as possible as it is benefits their mental well-being knowing they are still able.

Care homes are responsible for providing individual care plans for each resident, these are updated as and when changes need to be made and are also reviewed every 6 months with the resident’s next of kin. The care plans are put together to ensure all staff provide the specific care each resident needs. Here at Reside Care Homes we use a computer based system called CareDocs which allows us to make any changes/updates to the residents care plans with a click of a button.

Senior care home staff are able to administer prescribed medication to our residents, however medicine by injection or complex dressings will be carried out by a district nurse.

We respect all different cultures and backgrounds and will celebrate as many of these as we can with various events such including Remembrance Day, Easter, Christmas, St Patricks Day, Chinese New Year, etc.

Both of our homes have regular visits from chiropodists, hair dressers, opticians, etc. Appointments with GP’s or district nurses can be arranged as requested.

It is of utmost importance to us that your loved feels comfortable whilst in our care, therefore we ask all of our residents to complete a life history questionnaire when joining the home. This is to enable the staff to really get to know all of our residents so we can provide the best possible care.
